Big Boy 4014
Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest steam locomotive rolling out of town today. This Big Boy was retired in December 1961 but relocated back in Cheyenne in 2013 from California to begin a multi-year restoration process. It returned to service in May 2019, “Great Race” tours celebrating the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad’s completion. The Big Boy 2021 Tour will celebrate railroad heritage and the communities Union Pacific serves.
